Spring Awakening

Walking in the cool rain, early morning quiet.
Footsteps on the ground.
Scent of the wet earth.
Birds calling, singing, chanting.
The taste of spring is awakening.

With each step, I feel the clouds morph and pass.
Droplets of mist melt on my skin.
Tingling with the brush of the earth’s breath.
No sun today.
Hiding its radiance behind the clouds.
But I know it’s there.
I feel it is there. And it’s Here. Inside me.
Even when it’s blanketed in a thick grey mist.
The sun is there.
I open my eyes and smile at my Spring awakening.
