5 Day Challenge for Better Focus

Day 1: Notice the Urge

Sit still and breathe into your belly slowly for 5 minutes. Notice when you feel agitated. Try to resist the urge to "fix" that feeling with your phone or by giving up.

Day 2: Single-Task

Choose one simple activity today, like drinking your coffee, washing dishes, or eating lunch. Do it without multitasking. When your mind wanders, gently bring it back to the task.

Day 3: Create 20 Minutes of Focus

Set a timer for 20 minutes. Silence notifications, put your phone out of reach, and work on just one important task. If you get distracted, simply return your attention without judging yourself.

Day 4: Train Your Attention

Go outside for a 10-minute walk. Leave your phone behind or keep it in your pocket. Pay attention to five things you see, four things you hear, three things you feel, two things you smell, and one thing you appreciate.

Day 5: Practice Intentional Pausing

Three times today, pause before switching tasks or reaching for your phone. Take one slow breath and ask yourself, "What deserves my attention right now?" Then choose your next action intentionally.

These practices reflect the same attention-building principles used throughout Plugged Into Mindfulness, which emphasizes breath awareness, focused attention, and intentional awareness to strengthen concentration and emotional regulation.
